Sciatica nerve is the main nerve that supplies blood to both the legs. It starts from the mid back and goes right down to the foot. Sciatica nerve has two branches, one providing supply to left and other to right foot. When there is inflamation or compression in this sciatica nerve then the person experiences pain which is called as Sciatica Pain. SYMPTOMS
The most common symptoms of sciatica pain is lower back pain radiating down to hips and legs. Other symptoms may include:
Numbness or tingling sensation
Weakness or heaviness in leg
Pain and stiffness while turning on sides or bending
Sciatica Pain can be due to nerve root compression, inflamation of scaitica nerve, degenerative disc disease or due to disc herniation. Most of the cases can be treated through conservative approach and the best results can be seen in few weeks time. However, there are certain conditions that need microscopic surgery for relieving the sciatica pain.
